Kayaking Day Trip - Wickford Harbor

Calling all kayakers and first-timers, too! We will meet and carpool very early in the morning on Weds, September 13 to beat the traffic! Enjoy coffee and snack/breakfast before embarking on our kayak adventure. You may launch your own kayak or rentals are available.

We will launch from the Kayak Centre and have a 4-hr (ish) paddle through Wickford Harbor, around a couple of islands, probably beach the boats and stretch out legs for a couple of minutes, and S.E.E. Smith's Castle from the water. Possibly paddle out to the breakwater and S.E.E. the small lighthouse (now a private residence) osprey and osprey nests and most likely herons and egrets. Let's S.E.E. and EXPLORE the wildlife and learn some of the local area's history. 

Following our paddle, we will enjoy a group lunch and have time to explore the quaint Rhode Island villages.

We each need to order a kayak and complete the waiver form online. Please note:  We have special arrangements with Kayak Centre for kayak rentals on 9/13. Please call Kayak Centre at 401-295-4000 to reserve your kayak. We are doing the 4-hour rental - $50.00. See www.kayakcentre.com for rental rates/info.

Cost: $5.00 S.E.E. Mates reservation fee + rental

Reservation window will be limited to first come/first serve by Tuesday, September 5 to allow for a final count and carpool logistics!
