"Beauty and the Beast is a Broadway musical with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and a book by Linda Woolverton. Based on Disney’s classic 1991 animated feature, the musical opened at the Palace Theatre on April 18, 1994 and transferred to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre five years later. Featuring beloved music from the film like “Be Our Guest” and the Oscar-winning “Beauty and the Beast” as well as previously unreleased songs like “Human Again” and “A Change in Me” and more, the show became the tenth longest-running Broadway musical of all time before closing in 2007. Beauty and the Beast remains a popular touring production across North America, with a 30th anniversary tour set for 2025 through 2027."
